What is the Responsible Alcohol Retailing prep course?
The Responsible Alcohol Retailing prep course and exam is designed as an introduction to the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. Aimed at anyone who serves or sells alcohol as part of their day-to-day working practices, it provides a thorough foundation to the essentials for serving alcohol in bars, restaurants, pubs, hotels or other licensed retail outlets.
How much does it cost?
The Responsible Alcohol Retailing prep course and exam is £ 20 per person.
Why do I need it?
If you work in the licensed retail industry and serve or sell alcohol on a daily basis, this is the course for you. It is vital for you to understand your responsibility and the responsibilities of the Personal Licence Holder and Designated Premises Supervisor. If you employ staff who sell or serve alcohol as part of their day-to-day activities, it is your responsibility to ensure they are fully trained and understand the importance of complying with the Licensing Act 2003.
What does the online prep exam consist of?
There is an end of course multiple choice. If you successfully pass, you will be able to print your certificate of completion at your convenience.
How long is the course?
The RAR exam prep course is designed to take around 5 hours to complete. This will depend on your prior experience and on how much time you allocate to complete the course (e.g. you may wish to complete the whole course in one sitting, or complete modules of the course over a period of time). When and how you learn is flexible and you can choose what suits you the best.

What must I do to setup my official exam at a testing centre after completing the course?
