Introduction to Health and Safety at Work
This course explores health and safety components and the different types of incidents ultimately caused by bad attitudes and behaviors. Potentially harmful hazards are the immediate cause of these incidents and include two types: unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Students will learn about the different levels of risk posed by hazards in the workplace.
This course includes an overview of investigations, reports, recommendations, and corrective actions, focusing on a range of common workplace hazards. Twelve hazards are examined as well as various unsafe acts, conditions, and risk factors. A range of suitable preventative and corrective actions for each hazard is described.
